Mr. Raymond Okudzeto, a businessman, on Thursday donated relief items valued at GHc6,500 to people recently displaced by tidal waves in four coastal communities in the Keta Municipal area.
The items included 100 bags of rice, 20 cartons each of corned beef, sardine and vegetable oil, 10 50kg-bags of sugar, 400 pieces of blankets and GHc1,000 cash.
In all 1,605 people, including 354 children have been displaced at Atorkor, Dakordzi, Kplorwotorkor and Dzita during the disaster which also destroyed houses, fishing boats and nets and washed away personal effects and cash.
Mr. Okudzeto said he was deeply moved by the disaster that befell the people and decided to act to supplement any other support they may receive.
Agbotadua Tetteh of Anloga, who received the items on behalf of the victims commended Mr. Okudzeto for his concern and appealed to other well-meaning citizens of the area to emulate him.
