Mr Owiredu Dwamena, an elder at the Asylum Down Presbyterian Church of Ghana on Sunday advised the Christian youth to rely on the loyalty of God in everything they do.
He said most children are pressured by their peers to do what is not right and that as Christians, their behaviour should be different from that of their friends, who do not depend on the loyalty of God.
"Depend on Christ, always strive to do what is acceptable to God and in your daily activities, and do what is acceptable to Christ", Mr Dwamena said.
Mr Dwamena was speaking at a graduation ceremony for 15 children, who have been promoted to the Junior Youth Service, after attaining the age of 15 years.
The Presbyterian Church of Ghana has various generational groups for people of all ages, to promote better understanding of biblical principles among peers.
Other generational groups in the church include the Young Peoples Guild (YPG), the Youth Action for Christ, and the Men and Women's Fellowship for those above 35 years.
Mr Dwamena also urged parents to allow their children to participate in church activities, since it helps to shape them to live Christian life styles.
Preaching on the topic: "The Fidelity of God," Mr Dwamena encouraged Christians to put their "trust only in God and not in men because men could always fail but God never fails".
The children demonstrated their knowledge of the bible by reciting verses and answering questions from the elders of the church.
They also treated the congregation to songs and dances, after which they were presented with Bibles, note books and a certificate.
