Mrs Abena Obeng, Marketing Officer of Forever Clair (FC) Skin and Beauty Klinic said beauticians who used substandard products on their clients with the aim of maximizing profits were at risk of collapsing their businesses.
She said investing in quality products and equipment was key to the provision of beauty therapy and that clients would not hesitate to pay any amount charged provided they were provided quality service.
Mrs Obeng gave the advice when the Asante Akim South District branch of the National Association of Hair Dressers and Beauticians (NAHAB) paid a day's visit to her outfit in Accra to acquaint themselves with their operations and facilities.
The District Office of the Business Advisory Centre facilitated the visit which was sponsored by the Rural Enterprises Project (REP) in collaboration with the Asante Akim South District Assembly.
Members of the Association were conducted round the various departments of the Klinic were heads of department briefed them on their operations.
Mrs Obeng noted that clients were the fulcrum around which their businesses evolved hence there was the need to provide them the best of services in order to stay in business.
She encouraged them to keep a healthy relationship with their clients so as to maintain them since competition in the industry was steadily increasing.
Ms Kukua Ferguson, Head of the Cosmetology Department urged them to go a step further by knowing the products they used to guarantee the safety of their clients.
She observed that certain chemicals used in the manufacturing of some products might not be suitable on the skin and hair of some clients hence using them could be dangerous to their health.
She entreated them to be abreast with modern trends of beauty therapy and adopt proper managerial practices to improve on their businesses.
