The Ghana Muslim Mission has initiated steps to promote peaceful co-existence and improve general relationship with Christians in the country.
The effort was given a boost with a book launch entitled: "Jesus and Muhammad, brothers in Islam", authored by Sheikh Dr Amin Bonsu, Deputy National Imam of the Ghana Muslim Mission.
The book launched in Kumasi last week, highlights the importance of a peaceful co-existence among adherents of both faiths.
The move is aimed at teaching Muslim youth, who are the future leaders, to appreciate the importance of peace and also to express the tenant of Islamic religion.
The author, in a statement, questioned why there should be conflicts among adherents of the two religions when they all serve the same God.
Alhaji Amin Bonsu added that Jesus and Muhammad, all descendants of Abraham, spoke about peace and were therefore brothers in Islam.
Sheikh Dr Amin Bonsu emphasised that Allah is not the author of confusion thus Muslims must conduct themselves in a peaceful manner.
Touching on this year's elections, he was happy that the three northern regions and most Zongo communities were noted for fomenting trouble during election and indicated that this must change.
He advised the youth not to allow themselves to be used by politicians in attaining power and also called for political maturity throughout the country.
For his part Mr Abudu Amadu, the manager of Islamic Education Unit recommended the book for Religious and Moral Studies teachers at Senior High School level and advocated its translation into the local dialects.
