Reverend Daniel Owusu-Ansah of Adweso Trinity Presbyterian Church, dedicated a 75,000-Ghana Cedis 33 seater Tata bus, presented to the New Juaben Senior Commercial High School by its Parent Teacher Association(PTA), in Koforidua at the weekend.
Another bus which was donated to the school by President John Agyekum Kufuor and presented to the school on behalf of the president by Nana Adjei Boateng, the New Juaben Municipal Chief Executive, was also dedicated by the clergyman.
Speaking at a PTA meeting, Mr Yaw Asante, head master of the school, urged parents to encourage their children to study hard to enable them pass to their examinations.
He said for the past four years, the school had been recording 100 per cent passes in all subjects offered at the West African Senior School Certificate Examination.
Mr. Asante said it is against the school regulations for students to use mobile phones while on campus to enable them to spend their time on studies.
He said that last term, three students were suspended for violating the rule and this term another three students had been suspended for the same offence.
Mr Asante said the school authorities have arranged with MTN Mobile Phone Company for the fixing of telephone in dormitories and at vantage points on the school compound so that students could communicate with their parents.
Mr. Asante appealed to the PTA to assist the school to construct a wall around the compound and expressed worry until recently anytime there was blackout, criminals stole high tension electric cables at the school.
Mr. Asante commended the PTA for helping the school to acquire an electric generator, construct a place of convenience and the ground floor of the girls' dormitory and other projects for the school.
