Women have been advised to be always vigilant when buying spare parts since there were a lot of fake products on the market.
"Nowadays there are a lot of fake car parts on the market and if you are not careful when buying, you do nothing but buy trouble," said Mr. Emmanuel Adjorlolo, Sales Executive of Toyota Ghana.
Speaking at a seminar organised the Women's Department of the Ministry of Women and Children's Affairs (MOWAC) on Thursday for women organisations in the Greater Accra Region, he cautioned women to always stop their car when the temperature gauge rises so as to avoid their cars overheating.
"You should periodically also check the break fluids, batteries and wiper blades to make sure that they were in good condition," he said.
Mr. Adjorlolo advised them to always read all manuals attached to any spare parts that they bought and seek clarification if they did not understand anything.
Mrs. Ethel Forson of the Ghana AIDS and Sexually Transmitted Diseases Division of the Ghana Health Services educated the women on HIV/AIDS and advised them to educate their wards on the importance of avoiding STDs.
