The Anglican Bishop of Koforidua, Rt. Rev. Francis Benjamin Quashie has appealed to government to tar the Oyibi-Adomrobe road to encourage teachers of Adomrobe Anglican School to stay at the teachers quarters constructed for them.
He said the school is by the roadside and due to the dusty nature of the road, teachers who initially accepted to stay at the quarters of the school had all their dresses and items dusty al all times.
Bishop Quashie said the situation had made the teachers to abandon the quarters and were staying in communities outside Adomrobe and that had negatively affected the teaching and learning at the school.
He made the appeal at a media briefing on Wednesday after visiting
the school as part of his two-week tour of Anglican Schools in the Larteh Archdeaconry of the Anglican Church.
Bishop Quashie observed that, there was the need for the Ministry of Education to support the church to provide a Junior High School(JHS) for the Ankwasu Anglican School.
He said already the government is constructing a six-classroom block and if completed without the JHS block then the pupils would have to travel long distance to Mangoase or Aboabo to attend JHS when they reached that stage.
Bishop Quashie announced that the church would construct an Information, Communication and Technology(ICT) centre for the Larteh Anglican Schools to enable the children to have facilities to become ICT literate.
He said the project is expected to start by the middle of the year.
