The Member of Parliament for Effutu, Mr Mike Allen Hammah, has assured artisans of government's preparedness to equip them with resources as part of efforts to boost small scale businesses.
He said the District Assemblies would provide basic tools and equipment to support rural-urban entrepreneurial artisans.
Mr Hammah, who is also the Minister for Transport, said this in a speech read for him at the sixth graduation ceremony held by the Ghana National Tailors and Dressmakers Association in Winneba.
Some 40 tailors and dressmakers graduated and were presented with professional certificates.
Mr Hammah appealed to artisan trainers to make their services affordable to enable more people to be enrolled.
In his welcoming address, the Winneba branch Chairman of the association, Mr Kwesi Agyeman Essel, said his outfit, in collaboration with the International Labour Organisation (ILO), will equip artisans with employable skills and help offer them job placement.
The Central Regional Vice-Chairman of the association, Abdul Rahman, urged government to pay more attention to the youth in the artisan industry.
