A magistrate's court at Suhum on Tuesday sentenced Sekina Gatar, 25, to three months' imprisonment for stealing a mobile phone valued GHC 559, belonging to her friend.
Detective Chief Inspector, G.K. Okorey told the court presided over by Mr Ansah Awuah that Regina Ankamah, the complainant and the convict lived at Suhum.
He said on April 4, the accused and complainant sent their children to a clinic at Suhum.
Chief Insp. Okorey said the complainant left her bag containing a mobile phone on the bench and went to see the Medical Officer at the health facility.
Prosecution said Sekina was suspected of stealing the mobile phone and when her room was searched, the communication equipment was found.
