The Sefwi Wiaso District Magistrate Court in the Western Region, has remanded a 22 years old farmer, Kwesi Kusasi into police custody for defiling a 13 years old girl.
His plea was not taken and the court ordered him to reappear on 30th May 2009.
The Prosecutor, Police Inspector Charles Amudayi told the court that on Monday, May 11, at about 1pm, the suspect, Kussasi met the 13 year-old girl on a farm path and persuaded her to follow him for one Ghana Cedi (GHc1), but she refused.
The suspect then used force to drag the victim into the bush and forcibly had sexual intercourse with her.
Kussasi then warned the girl not to tell her parents about the ordeal but she went home and reported to her mother.
A complaint was then lodged and Kusasi was arrested by the police and upon interrogation, he admitted the offence.
