A Kumasi circuit court has remanded a 47-year-old unemployed into prison custody for allegedly possessing 320 grams of India hemp.
Kwaku Agyemang pleaded not guilty.
Police Chief Inspector Mary Nana Adwoa Affanyi told the court that personnel from the Drug Enforcement Unit of the Ghana Police Service arrested Agyemang at a drinking spot where he was trading in the drug on June 28, 2008.
A search on him revealed 36 wrappers of "wee." Later a parcel in a black polythene bag containing some of the dried leaves was retrieved from his room.
He mentioned one Abu as the owner but failed to lead the police to Abu.
