The Effutu Municipal Assembly, in collaboration with the Member of Parliament for the area, has presented some relief items to Winneba AME Zion Girls Senior High and Junior High schools that were affected by floods recently.
The items included 50 bags of cement, 40 boxes of chalk, 100 pieces of students foam mattress, 100 blankets, 3 bales of second hand clothing, 5 cartons each of Key soap and Geisha soap, 500 pieces of drinking cups and 500 plastic plates.
Mr Nii Ephraim, Effutu Municipal Chief Executive, Mr Samuel Quartey, Central Regional Vice Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) who represented of the Central Regional Minister, Madam Ama Benyiwa Doe and Mr Mike Hammah, the MP, made the presentation at a ceremony in Winneba.
They appealed to the students to concentrate on their books and avoid negative activities that could not help them achieve success in their education.
Mr George Kobina Aihoon, Assistant Headmaster of the school, who received the items on behalf of the school, thanked the assembly for the donation.
Some dormitories of the schools were flooded during a heavy downpour last month and items belonging to the students and the school were swept away.
