A 25-year-old Pastor, who impregnated a school drop-out and mentally ill patient at Osenase in the West Akim District, has been sentenced to nine years imprisonment in hard labour by the Akim Swedru Circuit Court.
Kwabena Agyire pleaded guilty to defilement.
Police Inspector Kwame Appiah told the court presided over by Mr. Kofi Akrowiah that the pastor who was praying for the 15- year old victim, told
the girl one night that he had a vision to have sexual intercourse with her in order to be healed.
He said since then the "Man of God" had frequent sex with the girl without opposition until she became pregnant.
Inspector Appiah said the victim's mother who detected the pregnancy questioned the girl , who said the pastor was responsible.
A report was made to the police who arrested Agyire.
