Alliance for Accountable Governance (AFAG) has expressed condolence to the entire nation on the sudden demise of Alhaji Aliu Mahama, former Vice President of the Republic of Ghana.
A statement issued in Accra by Arnold Boateng, General Secretary of AFAG said as Vice President, he served his nation with distinction, a feat which endeared him to all including his political opponents.
It said in his capacity as Vice President, he inspired a generation of Ghanaians across ethnic boundaries.
"He was a benevolent man who cared and extended a generous hand to the poor and needy," it noted.
The statement said the country has indeed lost a giant but his good deeds would far outlive him.
AFAG, it said, was inspired by the hope that the late former Vice President's exemplary life would inspire the youth and the nation to greater deeds.
AFAG is a pro democracy group in Ghana with an objective of making sure governments is accountable to the citizenry.
