Mr Charles Agbeve, Member of Parliament (MP) for Agotime-Ziope in the Volta region is awaiting popular acclamation to contest the parliamentary seat on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Mr Agbeve, who is the incumbent MP for the constituency, was the only person to pick nomination form to contest his Party's primaries by close of nomination on Friday, July 12.
In an engagement with the media after picking the nomination form, the MP said the reigning unity in his constituency was one of the reasons he was going unopposed.
He pledged to continue to work hard for the rapid development of the area and called for support of all.
Mr Agbeve appealed to members and supporters of NDC to intensify the campaign to enable the Party sweep all votes in the constituency in both the presidential and parliamentary elections in 2020.
Mr Agbeve is a member of the Select Committee on Health and also a member of the Standing Orders Committee of Parliament.
The former Ho Municipal Manager of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) won the Agotime-Ziope Seat for the NDC in the 2016 general elections, after Madam Julianaa Azumah-Mensah decided not to go again.
His endorsement would give him a second term in Parliament should he win the 2020 parliamentary election in the Constituency.
Mr Agbeve pledged to continue to promote education, health and agriculture in the constituency and called for peace and support.
