Some flights expected to land in Kenya's main airport in the capital Nairobi were diverted over bad weather.
The flights landed at the airport in the coastal town of Mombasa.
Local media reports indicated that there was heavy mist at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport on Friday morning.
A Mombasa airport official said more flights could be diverted if the weather did not improve, the Daily Nation newspaper reported.
Egypt Air from Dar es Salaam, Jambojet and two Kenya Airways flights from Accra and Lagos landed in Mombasa, according to the newspaper.
