The Municipal Chief Executive for Juaben in the Ashanti Region, Eunice Ohenewaa Ansu, has promised to run an open-door administration and all-inclusive governance to ensure rapid development in the area.
That way, she said, she would be able to serve the people of the municipality and address challenges such as lack of adequate educational infrastructure, agriculture, poor sanitation, bad road networks, unemployment among other things.
She was speaking after her swearing in by the Juaben Circuit Court Judge, Rosemarie Afua-Asante, following her confirmation by assembly members in the municipality.
Ms Ansu thanked the President for nominating her and pledged to operate on the vision of the President to reset the Juaben Municipality on the path of development.
She expressed her appreciation to the national, regional and constituency executives for their unwavering support, as well as the chiefs and assembly members for the confidence reposed in her.
The MCE, who until her nomination was the former Parliamentary Candidate (PC) on the ticket of the ruling National Democratic Congress for the Juaben Constituency in the just-ended elections, disclosed that she is not new to the municipality as she was familiar with most of the problems faced by the people.
Her confirmation by the assembly members and swearing-in was observed by chiefs, security personnel, assembly members, the New Patriotic Party Member of Parliament (MP) for Juaben, Francis Owusu-Akyaw and some party executives.
Ahead of the election, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Ashanti Regional Organiser, Mr Isham Alhassan, who represented the Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr Frank Amoakohene, urged the assembly members to confirm the nominee to project a good image of the municipality to fast-track the development of the area.
The MP for Juaben, Mr Owusu-Akyaw, expressed his readiness to work in collaboration with the MCE to champion the development of the area.
He, therefore, applauded the assembly members for adhering to his advice ahead of the election to ensure a touch victory.
