The Electoral Commission of Ghana (EC) has announced the reopening of nominations in selected electoral areas and units where no candidates filed ahead of the upcoming district-level elections.

In a press release signed by the Deputy Chairman of Operations, Samuel Tettey, the Commission said the move is in accordance with Regulation 12 of the District Level Elections Regulations, 2015 (C.I. 89).
Nomination forms will be available free of charge at all District EC offices or for download via the Commission’s website from Monday, November 3 to Thursday, November 13, 2025.
Candidates are expected to submit completed forms in quadruplicate with two recent bust-sized photographs against a red background. Submissions must be made in person or through a proposer or seconder to the Returning Officer of the relevant Electoral Area or Unit from November 10 to 13, 2025, between 9:00 am to 12:00 pm and 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm each day.
For Electoral Area positions, nomination forms must be supported by 18 registered voters, in addition to the signatures of the proposer and seconder. Forms for Electoral Units require the backing of 8 registered voters from the unit. Officer at the District Office in the affected areas.
