A member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) USA Columbus Chapter, Dr Musah Makaveli, has endorsed John Bart Addo for the position of Youth Organiser of the NPP USA Branch, describing him as the most qualified candidate to lead the party’s youth wing ahead of the 2028 general elections.
In a statement titled “A Vision Rooted in Service: Why My Brother, John Bart Addo Must Be Voted NPP USA Branch Youth Organiser,” Dr Makaveli said the party needed a youth leader with experience, strategic vision and a proven record of service.
According to him, Mr Addo’s involvement in the party began as a member of the Tertiary Students Confederacy (TESCON) at the University of Cape Coast before he became a founding member of the NPP South Korea Branch.
He added that Mr Addo also played a key role in establishing TESCON USA to strengthen youth engagement within the party’s diaspora structures.
Dr Makaveli noted that Mr Addo previously served as Deputy Youth Organiser of the NPP-USA Columbus Chapter and currently serves as the chapter’s Secretary.
He said these roles demonstrate Mr Addo’s commitment to the party and his understanding of its organisational structures.
The statement said Mr Addo’s campaign is anchored on three pillars—Structure, Strategy and Strength—which he believes are essential for building an effective and coordinated youth wing.
According to Dr Makaveli, the proposed agenda seeks to strengthen youth networks across chapters, improve communication and align youth activities with the party’s broader electoral objectives.
He also cited Mr Addo’s creation of the “Let’s Connect Series,” a platform aimed at strengthening engagement between the diaspora and the party’s leadership, as evidence of his commitment to youth mobilisation.
The endorsement further highlighted the support Mr Addo has received from Michael Asamoah, Secretary of the NPP USA Youth Wing Executives, who described him as the best candidate for the position based on his leadership qualities, experience and commitment to youth development.
Dr Makaveli urged delegates to vote for Mr Addo, arguing that his experience in party organisation and strategic planning makes him well-positioned to strengthen the youth wing as the NPP prepares for the 2028 general elections.
He said electing Mr Addo would provide the party with the leadership needed to mobilise young members and build stronger structures within the NPP USA Branch.
