Goals from Miguel Angel Angulo and David Villa kept Valencia riding high with a comprehensive 2-1 win in their Champions League tie at home against Group D rivals AS Roma.
The eastern Spanish outfit maintain their clean sheet with a maximum six points from two games keeping them top of their group, ahead of Roma who have three points.
The Italians got off to a well organised and determined start with Valencia having difficulty finding their early rhythm.
But Spanish international Villa proved the key to his side's attack picking up a long ball from Emiliano Moretti after 12 minutes to set up Angulo for the opener.
AS Roma got one back through a Francesco Totti penalty after 19 minutes awarded for a Moretti foul.
But Villa pulled his side level after 29 minutes when Moretti made up for his earlier error coming in from the left wing to pass to Villa, allowing the Spanish international to pass to the right of Doni.
Villa nearly doubled his tally for the 2000 and 2001 Champions League finalists just before the break and again on the hour mark before being substituted to a standing ovation at the Mestalla Stadium by David Silva after 72 minutes.
It was sweet revenge from the last time the two sides met in the competition here in 2003 and Valencia fell 3-0.
