Four women would be contesting 60 men for seats in the Nkoranza North District during the December 28 district Assembly and unit Committee Elections.
The four female candidates are seeking to annex seats at the Busunya-Kwaagya Electoral Area, Yefri, Senya and Timiabu-Taaho Electoral
Areas.
The district consists of 26 electoral areas.
Mr. Rudolf Chireh, the Nkoranza North District Electoral Officer, told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Nkoranza that 189 candidates have also registered for elections as unit committee members.
Mr. Chireh said the candidates are also made up of 167 males and 22 females and that five candidates would be elected to every unit in an
electoral area.
He announced that platforms are to be raised for the candidates of the various communities to enable them present their manifesto to the people.
Mr. Isaac Essien Ekow, Nkoranza South District Electoral officer, said 78 candidates, being 70 males and eight females are contesting for the 29 electoral seats in the area.
Mr. Ekow also said 245 candidates are contesting for positions as unit committee members.
According to him, 145 candidates would win seats to the 29 units of the electoral areas in the district.
