Mr Simon Amegashie-Viglo, Volta Regional Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), on Sunday said the religious fervour that evidently “streaks” President John Atta Mill's decisions underscored the age old affinity between religion and politics.
He said the central objective of both pursuits was seeking the welfare of humanity.
Mr Amegashie-Viglo was speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Ho on Sunday before scores of NDC political appointees in the region, party Officials including national officers among others joined the Ho-Bankoe EP Church Parish for a thanksgiving service to commemorate two years of the NDC government.
He said President Mills' godliness, the NDC's Social Democratic philosophy and the penchant of government for fairness and transparency could made Ghana a "Theo-democratic state".
Rev Frank Anku, a Past Synod Clerk of the Church, in a sermon asked government functionaries to maintain emotional equilibrium in the face of barrage of criticisms.
Very Rev Japhet Ledo, a past Moderator of the Church, said it took patriotism, honesty, dedication and hard work to build a nation.
Mr Joseph Amenowode, the Volta Regional Minster, said a lot had been done in the past two year and that the NDC was poised to do even more in the coming two years.
He said promises made by the NDC were being met one after the other and that the promised university for the Volta Region was about to take off.
