Black Stars central midfielder Ebenezer Ofori, has been attacked armed robbers at his home in Haatso, a suburb of Accra. Ofori, is part of the Black Stars, preparing for the reverse fixture against Congo, in the 2018 Federation of International Football Association (FIFA), World Cup qualifiers.
Mr. Ibrahim Saani Daara, Communication Manager of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), confirmed the news to the press at the Accra Sports Stadium on Monday Saying, “Ebenezer has reported the incident to the police this morning, we want to wish him well in this difficult moment.
“It is unfortunate for a player to come for national team duty and suffer this traumatic armed robbery attack.
“We hope that the police will double up their efforts in apprehending the perpetrators of this unkind act. Lots of his possessions were stolen during the raid by the armed robbers, his range rover vehicle was also stolen.” He said.
Mr. Saani Daara added that notwithstanding the attack, Ofori has shown commitment to the country by saying he wants to travel with the team to Congo this afternoon.
