Lizzy Sports Academy (LSA) have been drawn in Group E alongside Spanish giants FC Barcelona, Egyptian club Wadi Degla and United Arab Emirates-based Al Wahda FC ahead of their maiden appearance at the second edition of the U13 Dubai Intercontinental Football Cup slated for February 22-24, 2018 in Dubai.
Lizzy qualified for the eight-a-side 20-team tournament after winning the Ghana-leg of the qualifiers organized by Ghana franchise holders Centa14 Sports and Entertainment 4-3 against Dansoman Barcelona.
According to the co-founder and Director of Operations and Social Projects, Willem Alexander Coleman the LSA team are in high spirits for ahead of their departure from the country on February 20.
Mr Coleman told Graphic Online that the LSA contingent would present a 14-man contingent comprised of 12 players aged 13 years or under and two coaches who are confident of returning to the country with the ultimate a prize - a trophy named the Gold Cup.

"We saw them qualify for the tournament in Ghana when Real Madrid legend Michel Salgado was here and he was impressed with their quality and skills. I am very confident of their success in Dubai based on their display late last year".
The LSA team will be led by coach Nana Agyemang, who is fast building a reputation as one of the best young trainers in the country and skippered by talented midfielder Meshack Adjetey Sowah.
The competition organised by Salagado for the brightest young U-12 players across the world also features Liverpool FC, FC Rostov, Tokyo Select and Al Wasl FC in Group A, Juventus, Shabab Al-Ahli Dubai, AFA Angola and Pascoe Vale in Group B, Real Madrid, Spanish Soccer School, Jiangsu Suning and Al Nasr - Dubai in Group C while Group D houses Celta Vigo, Al Ahly - Egypt, Al Nassr - KSA and Canadian Academy of Futbol.
