Sowah has been surplus to requirement at the Porcupine Warriors after he fell out of the perking order to current first choice goalkeeper, Felix Annan, forcing him to part ways with the Garden City club.

However, the PRO of the Accra-based club, Kwame Opare Addo, denied starting any negotiations with the 30-year-old shot stopper, but accepted they would fill the gap created following the departure of goalkeeper, Theophilus Jackson.

“Even though his manager has told us Sowah was available, we have not completed anything with him,” he told the Graphic Sports in an interview yesterday.

Asked whether the club would be interested in signing the former Berekum Chelsea goalie, Opare said “Well, he is a player who has confirmed his availability. If we strike an agreement that will be fine, but as I speak to you now, Hearts have no agreement with Ernest Sowah.”

Opare, however, added that the void created following the axing of four players would definitely be filled depending on the recommendations of the technical team as the transfer window opened on April 27 and expected to close on May 29.

But he disclosed that although filling the void would purely be the decision of the technical team, they would have to justify it before they are given the green light to recruit any player they want to.

Hearts last Friday parted with four players of the club, including striker, Cosmos Dauda, newly-signed goalkeeper, Theophilus Jackson, Evans Quao and Joshua Otoo who were axed from the club for poor-performance.
