Toronto Raptors president Masai Ujiri voiced support for Dwane Casey on Wednesday but said the head coach will be evaluated, just like everyone else on the team, following a second-round sweep by the Cleveland Cavaliers.
"I believe in Dwane Casey, I believe in the work he's done. It's not different than anything I've said last year," Ujiri said at the team's season-ending session with reporters. "I'm looking at everything, negative and positive ... and how it all comes together.
"How do we win? This organization should be all about winning and how we build winning. ... I don't know that we can do anything 24 hours later."
With the question lingering about whether he will continue with the Raptors, Casey -- the newly minted National Basketball Coaches Association coach of the year -- said, "Nobody's told me any differently. Nobody's changed my key lock."
Ujiri is "absolutely disappointed" by the way the season ended but said when he looks at the big picture, he likes what he sees.
"To me, it's not doomsday. Where our program is, it's not doomsday," Ujiri said. "Now it's my job. Put it on me. ... We will get better here."
Ujiri said he thought the first game against the Cavaliers was the turning point in the series.
"I go back to Game 1, to be honest," he said. "What turned things there? Giving up a lead, or the calls, missing layups, all of those things.
"We don't blame anybody. We all lose together. But for me I look at [Game 1] as the turning point for the series. For some reason we lost something there."
