Cracksman will miss Sunday's Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe at ParisLongchamp, says trainer John Gosden.
The son of Frankel, who was around 12-1 Arc fourth favourite, will instead bid to defend his Champion Stakes crown at Ascot in his final racce on 20 October.
Gosden had indicated the Coronation Cup winner's run in France hinged on rain softening the ground.
He saddles the Frankie Dettori-ridden favourite Enable, who won the race last year.
"Cracksman will not be going to the Arc. We will sit tight and wait for the Champion Stakes," he told the Racing Post.
"They were forecast possible light showers on Sunday morning but we didn't think that was enough for him to run."
Enable is around 5-4 favourite ahead of Irish and Yorkshire Oaks winner Sea Of Class (7-2) who has been added to the line-up.
Sea Of Class, trained by William Haggas, was given a supplementary entry at a cost of 120,000 euros (£107,000).
With £2,5m in prize money going to the winner, the Arc is Europe's richest horse race.
Sea Of Class is bidding to emulate her sire, Sea The Stars, who won the big race in 2009.
