Malta Guinness Ghana Limited has rolled out its sports obstacle challenge dubbed, “Maltavator Challenge” to award loyal customers and help participants to identify their talents.
The challenge was part of the activities for the celebration of the company’s 30th anniversary and offered selected top 40 competitors including females from 110 registered participants in the Accra competition, held on Saturday.
Mr Roland Ofori, the Brand Manager of Malta Guinness said, the competition was to appreciate Ghanaians for their loyalty and support to the brand which had operated in Ghana for 30 years.
He said the Maltavator challenge, which entailed activities including weave run through cones, high knee runs through tyres, scramble or low crawls, hurdles, human maze, tire flips, balance run on a long, archery, monkey bars, box jumps, and inflated Maltavator ballon was organised to give the consumers energy, vitality, and resilience.
He explained that the competition would also be held on 10th November 2018 in Takoradi, 17th November, 2018 in Kumasi and 24th November 2018 in Tamale out which top 10 participants would be selected from each city.
Mr Ofori explained that the top 40 competitors selected at the end of the competition would enter into a grand finale competition on January 12, 2019 for the best six to be selected for an international competition.
Other countries to participate in the final competition include Ethiopia, Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa, Cameroon, and Cote D’Ivoire.
The international Maltavator challenge which would be organised in South Africa would offer the winner a cash prize of US$20,000.
Mr Ofori noted that the competition is open to the public at 18 years and above and encouraged eligible individuals to visit their face book page, ‘Malta Guinness Ghana’ to download the competition’s form and fill to partake in the activity, adding that interested individuals could also visit the various cities aforementioned on their respective dates to register and instantly participate in the challenge.
“Most of the participants are very young and we believe that if you have $20,000, you may have some entrepreneurial ideas that you would want to use it for; and the participants would also get exposure which would enhance their career”, he said.
The Brand Manager urged all participants to attain passports before the international competition commences, adding that, “Emerging winners at the grand finale in Ghana without passports would need to pass on their slots to next successful participants which would be very painful”.
He said all participants were taking through basic health screening exercise including blood pressure tests before being approved to partake in the competition.
