Lillian Musenge, Communications Director of Nkana FC has said, Kumasi Asante Kotoko, will fall on Sunday, February 24, in Zambia, in their third match of the group stages of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Confederations Cup.
According to Musenge, Nkana FC’s weekend loss to Power Dynamos, was due to fatigue on the part of the players, but added that they were poised to beat the porcupine warriors, who have not been that impressive playing away from home.
“Our boys were tired in the weekend encounter, but we also wanted to be careful ahead of the game against Kotoko, because it's an important game so we must prepare very well.
"The standings on the group table is nothing serious because Kotoko is not good away travellers, so we would beat them on Sunday to pick all the three points at stake.
"Kotoko winning in Cameroon against Coton Sport was not in the group stage and playing in the group stages is a different ball game all together, so that can't be a yardstick for Kotoko to win on Sunday,” she said.
According to Musenge, losing to Power Dynamo is nothing serious but the players would recover in due time and be ready for Kotoko on Sunday.
“Our players are used to pressure and that makes them ready for any team in the group, our players have not rested this season playing in a lot of active Competitions, but I trust them to win the game on Sunday”.
The game scheduled for 13:00 hours GMT, would see who tops Group C as Al Hilal of Sudan also takes on Zesco United of Zambia, with all three clubs are on three points each.
