Professor Peter Twumasi, Director General of the National Sports Authority (NSA), has said he is confident the court, will resolve the long standing dispute between Mr. George Haldane-Lutterodt and the Ghana Athletics Association (GAA).
The court on April 29, adjourned the case to 7th May, 2019, after receiving the report from the mediation committee set up by the NSA.
Mr. Lutterodt, former president of GAA, who is seeking to contest for the presidency again, placed a court injunction on the elections of the GAA, citing unfairness in the processes leading to the congress.
According to Professor Twumasi, though the due process must be followed, he was confident a judgment would be passed soon to get the association back to business.
“We were expecting ruling today especially after submitting the mediation committees report to the court, but I understand that the Mr. Lutterodt's side, wanted time to respond to the report from the Professor Menye committee and the court granted them one week to study the report,” Prof Twumasi noted.
“Our judiciary system and for that matter the Court processes take some time, but I'm confident that it shall be resolved soon,” he stated.
It would be recalled that Professor Twumasi in a bid to get an out of court settlement for both parties instituted a committee to help resolve the issue, which presented its findings and work to the NSA and a copy to the court for study.
