Accra Hearts of Oak succumbed to a surprising 1-0 defeat at the hands of Berekum Chelsea in the opening match of the 2019/20 Ghana Premier League played at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Iddirsu Nureini Cato should have doubled the lead for the away side three minute later but brilliant goalkeeping on part of Richmond Ayi ensured Chelsea went into half time with a one goal lead.
