The maiden edition of the Graphic Sports-Metro TV Forum which is expected to provide a solution platform for stakeholders in the sporting fraternity commences tomorrow at the Akua Boahema Studios, Metro TV, as North Ridge in Accra.
The idea of this lecture series came about because of the two media giants’ desire to have this stimulating forum to engage stakeholders on the challenges facing Ghana Sports, particularly Football, Athletics and Boxing, identify the problems, proffer solutions and make recommendations on the way forward.
Ahead of the maiden edition of the dialogue, renowned media personality, Dr Randy Abbey, has been chosen as moderator of tomorrow’s three-hour event which starts at 9 a.m. and ends at 12 p.m.
This edition will take place on the theme: “STATE OF GHANA SPORTS: The Challenges and Future” with a focus on Football, Boxing and Athletics, but will throw some light on other key sporting disciplines.
Unlike other talk shows which have failed to solve the problems facing sports in the country, the Graphic Sports-Metro TV dialogue series is expected to fish out the numerous problems in the sports industry and provide antidotes.
Tomorrow’s event will bring together several stakeholders in the sports industry including sports administrators, coaches and journalists to share ideas on how to better the industry.
It will be live on Metro TV, Original TV (Akuafo TV) and streamed live on Graphiconline and all the social media platforms of Metro TV.
Recommendations from the forum will be to put together as a working document to be presented to all stakeholders to help make our Ghana Sports a bigger and better industry.
The event is in partnership with the Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG), Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC), Professional Footballers Association (PFAG) and the University of Professional Studies, Accra, (UPSA) which will provide research support.
