Blackburn Rovers have signed Brighton midfielder Yasin Ayari on loan for the rest of the season after his stay with Coventry City was cut short.
The 20-year-old Sweden international had joined Coventry on a season-long loan deal in August, and went on to make 13 Championship appearances.
Ayari is 12 months into a four-and-a-half-year deal with Brighton.
"We feel his move to Blackburn will give him more opportunities," said Brighton technical director David Weir.
"We're looking forward to following his progress in the second half of the season."
Ayari made three Premier League appearances for Brighton after arriving from Swedish side AIK in January 2023.
In a short statement, Coventry thanked Ayari for his efforts while Blackburn welcomed him as their first addition of the January transfer window.
"Yasin has good technical and physical attributes along with a great character," said Rovers' director of football Gregg Broughton.
"His ability to play in any of the midfield roles gives us good depth and competition in that area for the second half of the season."
Blackburn are 17th in the Championship table after 26 games this season.
