Former Ghana Premier League sides Real Tamale United (RTU) and Techiman Eleven Wonders will face off in a highly anticipated playoff clash on Friday at the Accra Sports Stadium, with the winner earning a coveted spot in the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League.
Both teams topped their respective zones in the Access Bank Division One League, setting the stage for an intense encounter to determine which side will return to Ghana's elite football competition.
RTU, who were relegated last season after a disappointing Premier League campaign that saw them finish with just 31 points from 34 matches, have enjoyed a strong resurgence in Zone One A.
The Tamale-based side finished the season with 58 points, scoring a remarkable 59 goals—the highest in the zone—while conceding only 21, also the best defensive record.
Techiman Eleven Wonders, relegated from the top flight three seasons ago, are equally motivated to make a comeback. The Techiman side topped Zone One B with 53 points, five less than RTU.
Despite scoring fewer goals (42) and conceding more than RTU, their impressive consistency throughout the campaign has given them renewed belief in their top-flight credentials.
RTU won 18 of their 28 league matches this season, losing just six, while Eleven Wonders managed 15 wins and suffered only five defeats, making both sides formidable contenders for the sole qualification spot.
With both clubs boasting Premier League experience and a hunger to return to the top, the playoff is expected to be a fiercely contested battle.
