A tragic accident involving supporters of Aduana FC has claimed two lives, with several others in critical condition, following the club’s league match against Asante Kotoko on Sunday.
The incident occurred at Aboaso in the Ashanti Region when a tricycle (popularly known as Pragya or Adeedeita) carrying some fans reportedly crashed while they were returning home after the game.
According to eyewitness reports, three additional victims are currently in critical condition and receiving treatment at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) in Kumasi.
Journalist Iddriss Abdul Rahim, who first reported the incident, noted that the victims were part of a group from the Aboaso Zongo community who had travelled to support their hometown player, Seidu Saana, who featured prominently in the match.
In an official statement released on Monday, November 17, 2026, Aduana FC confirmed the heartbreaking news. The club expressed deep sorrow over the loss and revealed that two fans have been pronounced dead, while two others remain on admission at KATH and are responding to treatment.

“We regret to announce that two of the fans have lost their lives and two others are currently on admission… We wish the bereaved families strength and empathy and those on admission a speedy recovery,” the statement signed by Evans Oppong, Corporate Affairs and External Relations Manager, read.
The club added that they are in close contact with the affected families and relevant authorities, and will provide further updates as they receive them.
The supporters reportedly travelled to the match using buses and tricycles but encountered tragedy on their return journey.
The football community has since expressed shock and sympathy, with many calling for improved supporter transport safety on matchdays.
Aduana FC extended their condolences to the bereaved families and asked for prayers for the injured.
