Ghanaians, both at home and abroad, are buzzing with excitement as they prepare to celebrate Ghana Black Stars’ victory in the ongoing 2026 FIFA World Cup. The Ghana Airport Company, in partnership with DDP Outdoor, MullenLowe Accra, and Republic Bank, has demonstrated its unwavering support for the team through an exciting transformation of Terminal 3. This initiative features activations that celebrate Ghana’s qualification and participation in the World Cup.
The goal is to unite Ghanaians and travelers with a variety of interactive games. In the coming weeks, visitors can partake in activities such as branded football and penalty shootout challenges, a spin and win competition offering instant rewards, and stadium-themed photo sessions to capture and share memorable moments with family and friends. These experiences are designed to turn waiting time into quality fun time.
In her address, Managing Director of Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL), Mrs Yvonne Nana Afriyie Opare, highlighted the company’s commitment to bringing the World Cup excitement directly to the Accra International Airport terminals. She stated, “engaging with these exciting activations is a way to soak oneself in the World Cup Spirit, rally behind the Ghana Black Stars and create lasting memories while travelling through the Airport.” She also announced that the management and staff of GACL will wear Black Stars jerseys every Friday and on match days to showcase their dedication to the team.
General Manager of DDP Outdoor expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support from GACL’s management, staff, media, and the public, which contributed to the success of the launch. “The World Cup brings excitement, passion, and healthy competition. What we have done is to encourage travellers to participate and have the World Cup experience through the Accra International Airport, he said. He also hinted that Ghanaians can look forward to even more exciting activations in the coming year, starting with Ghana’s 70th anniversary celebrations.
Mrs Opare encouraged all travellers to join in the fun, take photos, and win prizes, sharing in the love and support for the Ghana Black Stars as they compete on the global stage.
