Mr Kwabena Osei Bonsu, Chief Executive of Add Your Voice Now, a Non-Governmental Organization, has urged Christians and Muslims to co-operate to make the December elections peaceful.
He asked Christians and Muslims to pray fervently and cooperate to make the elections incident-free since they all aimed to preserve the national interest.
"Without peace, no one can serve God very well,"
Mr. Osei Bonsu made the call on Sunday, when he launched a peace programme on Election 2008 being undertaken by the NGO.
The NGO is an organization that champions the cause of peace-building and malaria eradication in the country.
He urged the Ghanaians to preserve the peace of the country and not to allow partisan interests to derail the peace and progress that the country was enjoying.
Mr. Osei Bonsu said the NGO would start distributing leaflets on peace messages to create awareness about the need for all to actively play a role in ensuring that the December polls were peaceful.
He asked politicians to include malaria prevention messages in their campaign programmes and called on the general public to keep their surroundings clean to avoid breeding of mosquitoes and the resultant spread of malaria.
