Lebanese President Michel Suleiman expressed on Monday his support for an urgent Arab summit as soon as possible to discuss the situation in the Gaza Strip.
Suleiman voiced the stance in a meeting with a Palestinian delegation of representatives of Palestinian National Authority (PNA) Chairman Mahmoud Abbas and from Hamas movement as well as other Palestinian factions in Lebanon.
The presidential press office said in a statement that President Suleiman expressed his deep pain regarding "the massacres" in Gaza, which "is a well known action from the Israeli enemy."
According to the statement, Suleiman said he was seeking along with other concerned countries to work on interfering to stop the massacre in Gaza.
He said that he supported Lebanese Speaker Nabih Berri's call on Sunday for a meeting of the Arab Parliamentarian Union in southern Lebanon to discuss a solution to "the massacres" in the Gaza Strip.
