The Syrian people on Tuesday continued to stage mass demonstrations in various provinces for the third day to condemn Israel's "heinous aggression" on the Gaza Strip and show solidarity with the Palestinians.
According to the official SANA news agency, the Syrians from different political, economic, religious and social circles took part in the demonstrations in Daraa, Sweida, Hama and Tartous provinces.
They expressed "strong denunciation of the war of extermination waged by Israeli occupation forces against the besieged defenceless population of the Gaza Strip," said the report.
They carried banners and placards in condemnation of the Israeli "massacre" in the besieged strip, stressing that such atrocities amount to a "systematic genocide" against defenceless people.
The demonstrators burned Israeli and American flags and chanted slogans against the aggression, calling on the international community to take responsibility in stopping the aggression.
The protestors also called for severing all forms of relations with Israel and boosting up the Palestinian national unity through inter-dialogue among all the factions.
The Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip is under intensive Israeli air strikes for the fourth successive day on Tuesday.
About 380 Palestinians have so far been killed and more than 1,000 others wounded in the powerful offensive which Israel declared was in retaliation for nearly daily cross-border rocket attacks by Palestinian militants.
