Former Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf Thursday said he would visit India next month to deliver lectures on regional and global issues.
"The purpose of my visit is to deliver lectures on regional and global issues," Musharraf told Dawn News channel without giving details.
The former military ruler, who has maintained a low profile and stayed away from politics since he resigned in August last year, said his visit to India was part of a series of lecture tours abroad.
Musharraf recently travelled to the US to deliver lectures in several cities and to address leading think-tanks.
He will be the first high-profile Pakistani personality to visit India after the Mumbai attacks, which resulted in bilateral ties hitting an all time low.
It is expected that Musharraf may meet senior Indian officials during his visit to the neighbouring country, observers said.
Musharraf stepped down to avoid impeachment by the Pakistan People's Party-led government. Reports have suggested that he might re-enter politics or even form a new political party.
