The Effutu Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) Mr Nii Ephraim has charged Heads of Departments in the Municipality to be time conscious in their duties in order to maximize output towards the speedy development of the area.
He said the Assembly would not achieve its set target if heads of departments allow occupational laxity to impact on productivity.
Nii Ephraim said this when he met heads of departments in the Effutu Municipality at Winneba.
The meeting afforded the MCE the opportunity to fraternize with the heads who are technocrats of the area, and outline his vision for the Municipality.
He underscored the need for them to be more committed to their work and be mindful of time.
Nii Ephraim indicated that governments will come and go but civil and public servants will continue to be in office and, therefore, advised them to perform their duties devoid of any political considerations.
The MCE said his vision is to be a humble servant but not a dictator so that together they can accelerate the pace of development in the Municipality.
He also asked the heads to help the Assembly generate more revenue for the rapid development of the area.
Nii Ephraim said plans are underway for every student admitted to the Winneba campus of the University of Education to pay a contribution of 2.00 Ghana Cedis towards an Environmental for the area.
He said durbars and forums would be organised regularly for Effutu Rural to sensitize them on the need to send their children to school and also keep their environment clean.
The Municipal Coordinating Director, Mr Matthew Quayson, said the financial position of the Assembly is low and urged departmental heads to step up their activities in revenue generation.
He appealed to them to respond rapidly when it comes to discussions on the medium term plan for the Municipality.
