The weekly cabinet meeting of the Thai government on Tuesday agreed to enforce Internal Security Act (ISA) in Thailand's capital Bangkok from Nov. 28 to Dec. 14 to ensure law and order during a series of
mass anti-government rallies to be held.
The United Front for Democracy against Democracy (UDD) or the red-shirted people
will stage mass anti-government rallies from Nov. 28 to Dec. 2. The rallies purpose are to bring down the coalition government, while the UDD group
expects at least one million UDD supporters will join the rallies.
The UDD gathering will start from at about 12:00 a.m., local time, on Nov. 28, at the
Democracy Monument on Rat-cha-dam-nern road inside Dusit district in the center of capital Bangkok.
The UDD group aims to overthrow the Democrat-led coalition government by ending
2009 as it could achieve its objective to topple the government since there is a corruption
problem in several ministries, the group said.
