Mr Joseph Dindiok Kpemka, a private legal practitioner at the weekend picked nomination forms to contest the New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary primaries for the newly created Tempani Constituency.
The Tempani seat carved out of the then Garu-Tempani constituency is made up of 17 electoral areas and 56 polling stations.
Mr Kpemka told a press conference in Bolgatanga shortly after picking up his nomination forms he had gathered enormous experience and wealth of knowledge having been elected twice as an assembly man for the Kpikpira and one time Presiding Member of the Garu-Tempani District and subsequently District Chief Executive (DCE) for the District.
"As DCE for Garu-Tempani for just five months, the District witnessed enormous development projects. Within that period, I executed not less than 28 projects for the area," he said, adding that he has had constant interactions with the people by participating in programmes in the area.
He said he had acquitted himself creditably to merit the mandate of his people to lead them.
Mr Kpemka said he would make education one of his major priorities since education was the tool in transforming lives.
"I will ensure that a chunk of the District Assemblies Common Fund is channelled into education and sponsorships would be offered to needy and brilliant children in the area to discover their potentials."
The health of the people, he said would be his priority whilst local interventions and strategies would be put in place to ensure the total emancipation of the people.
He called on all to support his bid to continue the good policies the previous NPP administration initiated.
The NPP is expected to hold primaries early this month to elect candidates for the newly created constituencies for the December 7 General Election.
The Upper East Region has three newly created constituencies including Tempane and Bolga East constituencies.
