LG has presented a new type of display that it plans to use in its upcoming flagship smartphone. The new display has a higher screen resolution than the screens LG has used to date in its flagship smartphones. Because the screen is longer in length, the display has a resolution of 1,440 x 2,880 pixels, compared to the previous resolution of 1,440 x 2,560 pixels.
LG said the new display will be ideal for viewing videos and multi-tasking purposes. It is thinner and therefore responds to touch 30 percent better than previously used LG screens.
LG does not mention by name which device will include the new screen, only saying it will be part of its upcoming “flagship smartphone” which it hints will be the LG G6. The device is expected to be presented sometime in February or at the Mobile World Congress.
