It was facilitated by Mr Mohamed Hafez, the Sales Manager for Africa/Middle East, Akzo Nobel United Arab Emirates (UAE) office, and Mr Hans Schrama of Akzo Nobel Car Refinishes BV of Holland.Research and Development
In an address to the participants from the motor firms that preceded the workshop, Mr Hafez underscored the importance of research and development and said “they play a critical role in the innovation process”, adding that “It's essentially an investment in technology and future capabilities which is transformed into new products, processes, and services.”
He added that through research and development by Akzo Nobel Car Refinishes BV of Holland over a period of time, “the Auto Base Plus brand has been identified as superior and the ultimate among the Sikkens products, hence the need to make such findings known to the auto markets and partners of Bamson Company Limited” so that together they would team up to give the best of care to their customers in Ghana, Africa, the Middle East and the rest of the world.
In an overview, Mr Schrama said after some years of the Autobase Classic being on the market, research had established that the Autobase Plus was superior to the Autobase Classic hence the need for its re-introduction onto the market.
Participants expressed satisfaction with the workshop and said they had learnt a lot of new things about vehicle care and treatment.
They commended Akzo Nobel Car Refinishes BV of Holland for always putting their customers and partners first in innovation and asked that such engagements should be sustained for the mutual benefit of Akzo Nobel and customers.
