The fulfillment of the dreams of the late Volta Regional Minister, Mr Henry Ford Kamel for the region's development would be a befitting memorial to his name, Right Reverend Francis Amenu, President, General Assembly of the E.P. Church has said.
He said this in a sermon at the memorial service for the late Kamel in Ho on Friday.
Right Reverend Amenu said the late Kamel had joined the retinue of talented people who had accomplished much within a short life span.
He said death was a reminder that man lives on borrowed time and once his work was done he would be recalled by God to rest.
Right Reverend Amenu said, "Our days are recorded in heaven at birth" for this reason "we become wise when we accept death and die unto self."
He said death was a very close companion of man and those who sought to live as "immortal gods" by means of occultism rather died miserably.
Most Reverend Francis Lodonu Bishop of Ho Diocese of the Catholic Church said, the late Kamel had spent his last Sunday with him and from their discussions he showed his eagerness for the development of the region.
"He was hardworking, honest, humble that is how we saw him, that was the kind of man we love," Bishop Lodonu said.
Bishop Lodonu exhorted the citizenry to love their leaders and take good care of them.
There was modest crowd of the clergy, traditional leaders, public servants, leaders and members of political parties and personnel and officers of the security services at the service to pay their last respects to the late Kamel.
He will be laid to rest at his hometown Guaman in the Jasikan District on Saturday the 23rd of February.
