Mr. Paul Evans Aidoo, the outgoing Western Regional Minister, has assured the incoming government of his cooperation and support to ensure the development of the Region.
“We will still be around to offer and cooperate with the new government to ensure the development of the Region”. The Regional Minister was speaking during an interaction and luncheon session organized by the Regional Coordinating Council for members of the press in the Region.
He promised to offer selfless direction and advice on the numerous road projects initiated including the Capstone Kansaworondo road, Fijai-Fire Service road, Mount Zion, and Apollo oads among others.
Mr Aidoo lauded the tremendous work done by media personnel within the Region to propel the socio-economic growth of the Region and the country at large.“You have played your part and you deserve to be commended for the voluntary and sacrificial work done to project this Region to investors and the World,” he added.
He mentioned how the press devoted time to discuss and promote issues such as the National Sanitation Day, Independence Celebration and Farmer’s Day in the spirit of patriotism.
“Though the RCC never paid a penny for such programmes, you were always there to project these programmes and we are grateful,” the Minister said.Mrs Mildred Siabi-Mensah, Western Regional Treasurer of the GJA on behalf of the media in the Region, expressed gratitude to the RCC for recognizing the contribution of the inky fraternity towards the growth of the Region.
She also called on the RCC to be friendlier and forthcoming with information adding, “We are partners in development”. Mr. Aidoo will officially hand over the administration of the RCC to the Chief Director on Monday January 9, 2017.
