The Nsawam Motor Traffic and Transport Unit (MTTU) of the Ghana Police Service, on Tuesday identified a man who died while on admission at the Nsawam Government Hospital, after a truck had hit him, as Methuselah Mensah, a 31-year-old driver.
Briefing the Ghana News Agency on Monday, Chief Inspector Patrick Boasiako in charge of the MTTU said the late driver was repairing his defective haulage truck at Ntoaso on the Accra- Kumasi highway, when a tipper truck loaded with stones knocked him down.
He said Methuselah was rushed to hospital where he died from his wounds.
Chief Inspector Boasiako said the police were looking for the driver of the tipper truck who was on the run.
In another development, a Kumasi- bound bus knocked and killed an unidentified woman, at the Nsawam railway crossing.
Chief Inspector Boasiako said the body has been deposited at the Nsawam Hospital mortuary.
He said two persons who were also injured in the accident were on admission at the hospital, while police investigations continue.
