In a move to bridge the gap between agricultural research and investment opportunities, AGRI Eye Consult is set to host Ghana’s first-ever Agricultural Researchers-Investors Summit in Kumasi from June 26- 27, 2025.
The two-day event on the theme “Bridging Innovation and Investment for a Resilient Agrifuture in Ghana,” will take place at the Lecture Theatre of the Faculty of Agriculture at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).
This pioneering summit is the result of strategic partnerships between AGRI Eye Consult, the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research-Crops Research Institute (CSIR-CRI), the Faculty of Agriculture at KNUST, and the Ghana Agricultural and Rural Development Journalists Association (GARDJA).
A statement signed by the Executive Director of Agri Eye, Richmond Fripmong, observed that Ghana, like many sub-Saharan African nations, faced a paradoxical challenge in its agricultural sector.
It said despite Ghana boasting strong academic institutions, producing valuable agricultural research, “much of this knowledge remains underutilised, while entrepreneurs and investors struggle to find innovative solutions to scale and sustain agribusiness ventures”.
“Groundbreaking research sits idly on shelves while our agricultural sector faces mounting challenges from climate change, food insecurity, and economic pressures”, the statement said.
The summit aims to unleash the potential of Ghanaian research in revolutionising seed systems, improving soil health, enhancing postharvest value chains, optimizing irrigation, and promoting climate-smart farming practices.
The summit is designed as a strategic intervention to unlock Ghana’s innovation potential and drive inclusive economic growth through agribusiness.
By creating a structured platform that connects researchers with potential investors, the summit aims to catalyse a new era of investment-driven research utilisation in the country.
The summit seeks to break down silos between academic institutions and industry, fostering a new ecosystem where scientific innovations can be translated into sustainable enterprises.
By connecting researchers directly with potential investors, the summit aims to create pathways for funding, scaling, and supporting the deployment of agricultural innovations across Ghana
