Two years since Tigo Cash was introduced, the country's premier mobile telecom company's product, has created successful business opportunities for hundreds of people nationwide.
"Testimonies from Tigo Cash agents across the country show that they have grown in business and in fortune. When Tigo Cash was introduced, Tigo was confident that this innovative product would change the lives of mobile users as well as Tigo Cash Agents who work in the business," the company said in a statement on Monday to the Ghana News Agency.
Moru Ishawu, a Tigo Cash Agent in Daboya stated: "The commissions I get from Tigo Cash are good and that is what I use to pay my shop assistants. So far, Tigo's commissions are the best".
Gertrude Fosu of Gadisco Business Centre, Accra Newtown, said, "Tigo Cash has added a new phase to my business; branding my office with Tigo Cash has turned my office into another Tigo office giving me more customers to leverage. The commissions I earn have also improved my income."
Kabila Enterprise from Aboabo, a suburb of Tamale said: "Tigo Cash has had a lot of impact on the people in the community. Tigo Cash has made work easier for the businessmen here. Some of the users save on Tigo Cash as 'susu'."
In Tigo's quest to help small businesses expand and flourish, the company said Tigo Cash was offering more individuals an opportunity to join its team of agents.
The Head of Mobile Financial Services at Tigo Ghana, Selorm Adadevoh, said, "Tigo Cash is seeing growing adoption with more customers demanding more Tigo Cash Agents across the country. There is therefore the need to grow our agent network to meet the demand".
"Tigo Cash is the no wahala way to send cash to anyone on any network and buy airtime straight from your mobile phone," the statement said.
